PovesteaThe story

Povestea. Sau: de ce ne-a fost dor. The story. Or: what we missed.

We didn't start brewing to conquer shelves. We started because we missed a taste you couldn't find anywhere anymore.

Apoi orașul a prins viteză.

There was a time, not long ago, but somehow another century.

When the evening began on the curb and never truly ended. When the beer was cold, the block was warm, and the most important thing in the world was who else is coming and how long we're staying.

We had nothing and we had everything. A train crawling through the edge of town. A bottle passed hand to hand through a window. A sunset stretched over ten floors of balconies with rugs out to dry. Time didn't run from us, it waited for us.

Then the city picked up speed. Everyone started rushing toward something. And somewhere along the way, that taste got lost. Not the beer's, the evening's. The taste of "stay a while."

Seara începea aici. Și nu se grăbea nimeni. The evening started here. Nobody was in a hurry.

Noi n-am vrut să-l lăsăm dus. We didn't want to let it go.

That's how Bere București de cartier was born. Craft, unpasteurized, made with patience, because good things won't be hurried.

Each brew carries a neighborhood's name: Rahova, Pantelimon, Drumul Taberei, Dristor, not to look good on a label, but because that's where we learned what a proper evening feels like.

We're not selling you the past. We're putting it cold on the table and saying: sit down, we've got time.

Nu recuperăm timpul. Îl bem pe îndelete. We don't make up for lost time. We drink it slow.

E o atitudine. "From the block" isn't an address. It's an attitude.

It means we know where we come from and we're not ashamed, quite the opposite. It means beer made properly, not in a hurry. No lab-made aromas, no inflated stories, no "notes of wild peach picked under a full moon." Just hops, water, patience, and a bit of cheek.

If you're one of us, you'll feel it. If you're not, you'll want to be.
